Multi-Timer for the Lab
Run several named timers at once for incubations and protocol steps
Loading the tool…
Runs several named timers and stopwatches at the same time on one screen. Use it for lab steps with different times, such as centrifugation, incubation and washes, or for cooking.
How to use
- Set a "Name", the hours, minutes and seconds and a "Colour", then press "Add timer". The buttons next to "Start now" start a 1 to 60 minute timer at once.
- Each card has its own "Start", "Pause", "Reset" and "+1 min" buttons. "Start all" and "Pause all" control every timer.
- For steps that follow one another, write one "name, time" per line under "Protocol mode" and press "Add protocol".
- Save a combination you use often under "Save and load timer sets".
How it works
- Timers count from their end time, so they stay exact in a background tab. The screen is kept on while a timer runs.
- Each timer has its own alarm pitch. When time is up, the card flashes and the overtime is counted.
- The tab title shows the timer that ends first. Timers and sets are saved only in this browser on this device.
Questions and answers
- Can I run multiple timers at once?
- Yes. Every timer and stopwatch you add runs on its own, and each card shows when it will end.
- Will I be alerted when I am in another tab?
- Turn on "Send a notification when a timer ends" and allow notifications for this site in your browser.
- How do I write times in a protocol?
- Use 10:00 (min:sec), 1:30:00 (h:min:sec), 5 (minutes), 90s or 1h 30m, for example "Wash 1, 5:00".
- Do the timers stop if I close the page?
- The start time is saved, so the time that has passed is counted when you return. No alarm sounds while the page is closed.
