Compare the time across cities and find a meeting time that works
Loading the tool…
Compares the time in several cities and the differences between them; change the time in the base city and the others follow. Use it to plan an international meeting at an hour when everyone is at work.
How to use
- Type a city, country or time zone, such as Paris, Japan or UTC, in the "Add a city" box and press a result.
- The city at the top is the base. To use another city as the base, press its "Make base" button.
- Change the base city's date and time, and every city shows that moment. "Now" returns to the current time.
- Check the hours under "When everyone is at work", and change "Work starts" and "Work ends" under "Settings".
How it works
- Times come from the IANA time zone data built into your browser, so daylight saving time is applied automatically. Cities on daylight saving time are marked.
- Working hours are 09:00 to 18:00 by default, without Saturday and Sunday. Tap a bar to jump to that time.
- There are 136 built-in cities. Your city list and settings are saved in this browser on this device.
Questions and answers
- What is the time difference between Seoul and New York?
- Add both cities and make Seoul the base; the New York row shows the difference for the chosen date. With daylight saving time, the difference can change by one hour with the season.
- Is daylight saving time taken into account?
- Yes, for the chosen date. If you enter a time that is skipped when daylight saving time starts, it is moved to a valid time and a note says so.
- How do I find a meeting time across countries?
- Add the city of every participant. Each city's working hours appear as a bar, and the shared hours are listed in the base city's time. If there are none, widen the working hours.
- What is UTC?
- Coordinated Universal Time, the reference for all time zones. Each zone is written as its difference from UTC, such as UTC+9 or UTC−5.
