Flash drill
A word flashes for a moment and disappears. Recall it, check, and it comes back at the right interval

A flash-style memory drill: a word or sentence is shown for a brief moment, hidden, recalled, then checked. Depending on whether you knew it, the card comes back after 1, 2, 4, 7 or 15 days.
How to use
- Under "Deck", pick a built-in deck (words by topic, sentences of the day) or one of your own.
- Set "Show for" and press "Start the drill". The card appears briefly and is then hidden.
- While it is hidden, recall the answer, then tap the card or press "Show answer". Press "Flash again" if you missed it.
- After seeing the answer, press "Knew it" or "Missed it". Missed cards come back soon in the same session.
- In the "My decks" tab, paste a word list to create a deck, or manage decks sent from "Words of the day".
How it works
- "Knew it" moves a card up one level and brings it back after 1, 2, 4, 7 and 15 days. "Missed it" sends it back to level 1 for tomorrow.
- Built-in decks follow the chosen learning and known languages; your own decks keep the languages they were made with.
- The paste format is one card per line, with word and meaning separated by a tab, a comma or " - ".
- Progress and your decks are saved only in this browser on this device.
Questions and answers
- How is this different from ordinary flashcards?
- The card does not stay on screen: it is shown for a set time and disappears. The brief look followed by recall is what strengthens the memory.
- What show time should I use?
- Start around 1.5 seconds and shorten it to about 0.6 seconds as the deck becomes familiar. Longer sentences are easier at 2 seconds or more.
- It says no cards are due today.
- No card has reached its review date. Choose "All, shuffled" or "New only" to study right away.
- Can I import a word list from a spreadsheet?
- Copy the two columns (word and meaning), paste them into the box in the "My decks" tab and press "Create deck".
