White Screen Light

Fills the whole screen with white or any color so you can use it as a light. It helps when you need light for a selfie or video call in a dark room, or a light pad for tracing a drawing on paper.

How to use

1. Choose "White", "Warm white" or "Cool white", or set the color with the "Color temperature" slider or "Pick a color".
2. Turn your screen brightness to maximum in the device settings, then press "Turn on full screen". Pressing the light area also turns it on.
3. In full screen, tap an empty area to hide or show the controls. To finish, press Esc or "Exit full screen".
4. For tracing, press "Lock for tracing" and place the paper on the screen. Press and hold the button in the top right corner to unlock.

How it works

• A web page cannot change the device's screen brightness. "Brightness on the page" (10 to 100%) only darkens the color, so keep it at 100% for the most light and switch off auto-brightness and night mode.
• "Color temperature" goes from 2,000 to 10,000 K. Warm white is 3,000 K and cool white is 9,000 K. The real light color also depends on the screen.
• The screen stays on while the light is on. The chosen color and brightness are saved in this browser.

How do I use my phone or tablet as a tracing light box?

Leave it on white, press "Lock for tracing", lay the paper on the screen and draw over it. While locked, touching the screen does not scroll or zoom the page.

Which color is better for selfie light?

If your skin looks yellow, choose "Cool white"; if it looks pale, choose "Warm white". Then fine-tune with "Color temperature".

Why does the screen not get brighter?

A web page cannot raise the device brightness, so raise it yourself in the device settings. Also check that "Brightness on the page" is at 100%.
