Simple Budget Tracker

Log income and spending with a type, a category and an amount, and see each month's balance, the share of each category and spending per day. No account is needed.

How to use

1. Under "New entry", choose the "Type" (Spending or Income), enter the "Amount", pick a "Category" and press "Add entry".
2. Move between months with "Previous month" and "Next month" to see the balance, the shares "By category" and "Spending per day".
3. In the settings, fill in "Monthly budget per category" to see progress bars under "Budgets".
4. Add money that goes out on the same day every month, such as rent, under "Recurring items (monthly)".
5. Search, edit or delete records under "Entries".

How it works

• Records are saved only in this browser and are not sent to a server. Clearing the browser data also deletes them.
• "Export CSV" and "Full backup (JSON)" save your records as a file; use "Import CSV" or "Restore from backup" to load them on another device.
• The thin line on each budget bar shows how much of the month has passed. A bar ahead of the line means spending is faster than the budget.
• Changing the "Currency" changes only the display; saved amounts are not converted.

Questions and answers

Where is my budget data stored?

Only in the browser on the device you are using. Other people and other devices cannot see it.

Can I use it on both my phone and my computer?

It does not sync automatically. Make a "Full backup (JSON)" on one device and press "Restore from backup" on the other.

Can rent or a phone bill be added every month automatically?

Yes. Save it under "Recurring items (monthly)"; it is recorded when you open the page on or after that day. The 31st becomes the last day in shorter months.

Can I import a budget from a spreadsheet?

Save it as CSV with the columns date, type, category, amount, note and payment method, then press "Import CSV". Dates must look like 2025-03-01, and identical entries are added only once.
