Name Compatibility Test
A just-for-fun love calculator from two names
Loading the tool…
A name compatibility game that turns two names into a match percentage with the LOVES letter count. It shows each row of the calculation, step by step.
How to use
- Type the two names into "First name" and "Second name" in Latin letters.
- Read the rows under "How the number is reached" and the "LOVES score".
- Use "Swap names" to change the order, or "Replay the steps" to watch the calculation again.
- Use "Save as image" or "Copy link" to send the result. The link contains both names as typed.
How it works
- The tool counts how many times the letters L, O, V, E and S appear in both names. Neighbouring numbers are added and only the last digit is kept on the next row, until two digits are left; they are read as a percentage.
- Accents are ignored, so É counts as E. Letters that are not Latin are not counted, so names in other scripts give no meaningful result.
- This is a game, just for fun. The number comes only from the letters in the names and says nothing about a real relationship.
Questions and answers
- How does the LOVES love calculator work?
- For Romeo and Juliet, the counts of L, O, V, E and S are 1, 2, 0, 2 and 0. Adding neighbours gives 3 2 2 2, then 5 4 4, then 9 8, so the result is 98%.
- Does the order of the names change the result?
- No. The letters of both names are counted together, so swapping the names gives the same percentage.
- Is the love calculator accurate?
- No. It is a playground game with no connection to a real relationship. Read the result for fun only.
