Crop & Resize Image
Crop a photo to any ratio and change its pixel size
Loading the tool…
Crops a photo and changes its width and height in pixels. Use it when a picture must fit a set ratio or size, such as a square post, a thumbnail or an ID photo.
How to use
- Drop a photo onto the box or click to choose one.
- Choose an "Aspect ratio", then drag the box on the photo or its corner handles to set the area to keep. You can also type pixel values into the X, Y, width and height fields.
- If needed, rotate in 90° steps with the ⟲ and ⟳ buttons or flip with the ⇋ and ⇵ buttons.
- Under "Resize", choose "Set pixels", "Scale by percent" or "Social and web sizes", set "Save as" and press "Crop and save".
How it works
- With "Social and web sizes", the crop ratio is set to match the chosen size. For example, "Video thumbnail 1280×720" crops to 16:9.
- Large reductions halve the size step by step, which keeps edges smooth. If the output is larger than the original, a warning says it may look soft.
- The browser applies the orientation stored in phone photos, so the crop matches what you see. The saved file contains no EXIF data.
- Photos are not uploaded; they are processed on this device.
Questions and answers
- How do I crop a photo to a square?
- Choose "1:1 square" under "Aspect ratio" and move the box to the part you want. "Largest area" makes the box as large as possible at that ratio.
- Can I resize an image to exact pixel dimensions?
- Yes. Choose "Set pixels" under "Resize" and enter the width and height. With "Keep aspect ratio" on, entering one side sets the other.
- Why does my picture look stretched or squeezed?
- The ratio of the size you entered differs from the cropped area. When the warning appears, turn on "Keep aspect ratio" or set the crop "Aspect ratio" to the same ratio.
- Can I crop several images at once?
- No. The tool works on one photo at a time. After saving, press "Another image" to open the next one.
