Would You Rather & Truth Questions
Random would-you-rather and truth questions for groups and icebreakers
Loading the tool…
Draws would-you-rather questions, truth questions and icebreakers one card at a time. Use it at a party, a team meeting, a workshop or the first day of a class when you need a question to start a conversation.
How to use
- Choose the question type: "Would you rather", "Truth questions" or "Icebreakers".
- Turn on only the categories you want: "Light", "Food", "Dating", "Work", "School" or "Absurd".
- Press "Next question" for a new card. For would-you-rather questions, tap each option to count how many people choose it and see the percentages.
- To show the cards to a group, use "Full screen". If you like, set a "Timer per question" of 10 seconds, 30 seconds or 1 minute.
How it works
- There are 258 would-you-rather questions, 204 truth questions and 102 icebreakers. Cards are drawn with the browser's cryptographic random number generator, and a card that has been shown does not come back until you press "Start over".
- Write your own questions under "Add your own questions" and turn on the "My questions" category to mix them in. For would-you-rather, separate the two options with /.
- The list of shown cards and your own questions are saved only in this browser on this device. On a keyboard, → or N shows the next question, 1 and 2 count an option, and F switches full screen.
Questions and answers
- How do you play would you rather?
- Someone asks a question with two options, and each person must choose one and explain why. For example: always be 10 minutes early, or always be 5 minutes late.
- What are good truth questions?
- Questions that invite a personal story, such as "What's the best gift you've ever received?". Choose categories such as "Dating" or "Work" to get only questions that suit the group.
- What happens when I run out of questions?
- When every card in the chosen categories has been shown, a message appears. Turn on more categories or press "Start over" to shuffle them again.
