Nickname & Username Generator

Generates 20 nicknames at a time from the style, pattern and length you choose. Use it to find ideas for a gamertag, a social media username or a name in an online community.

How to use

1. Under "Style", choose a mood such as "Cute", "Gaming" or "Animals", and under "Pattern", choose how the words are joined.
2. Set the "Minimum length" and "Maximum length". If a word must appear, type it in "Word to include".
3. If you like, change the look with "Add numbers", "Symbols" and "Letter case". The list is remade as soon as you change a setting.
4. Tap a nickname to copy it, or tap its star to keep it under "Saved nicknames". Press "Make 20 new ones" for more ideas.

How it works

• Nicknames are built from words picked at random from word lists written for each language. Results that contain rude or offensive words are filtered out.
• Length counts every letter, syllable or symbol as one character. If the settings are very narrow, fewer than 20 nicknames appear, and the page says so.
• The tool does not check whether a name is already taken in a game or service. Saved nicknames are kept only in this browser on this device.

Questions and answers

How do I come up with a gamertag?

Choose "Gaming" under "Style" and set "Maximum length" to the limit of your game. If the name you want is taken, "Add numbers" appends two or four digits.

Can I make a username with a word I like?

Yes. Type it in "Word to include", up to 12 characters, and it appears in every result. Avoid personal details such as your real name.

Can I get usernames in all lowercase?

Yes. Under "Letter case", choose "All lowercase". You can also choose "Capitalize each word" or "All uppercase"; this applies only to Latin letters.
