Ideal Type World Cup Maker

A knockout tournament, often called an ideal type world cup, made from names or photos: two entries appear at a time, you pick one, and at the end a winner and a full ranking are shown. Sets for food, travel and snacks are included.

How to use

1. Type names into "Add names", one per line, or drop photos. 4 to 64 entries work; 8, 16, 32 or 64 fill the bracket exactly.
2. Add a "Title (optional)" and press "Start the world cup".
3. Press the card you prefer or use the ← → keys; the round is shown above and "Undo" takes back the last pick.
4. After the final, "Save result image" draws the winner and the top four, "Send to a friend" shares a link with the same entries, and "Save to my sets" keeps them under "My world cups".

How it works

• Pairs are drawn at random; losers are ranked by the round they lost in, so the two semi-final losers share third place.
• Photos are scaled to 600 px and kept only in this browser's storage (IndexedDB); nothing is uploaded. The entries and the current bracket also stay on this device.
• A share link carries only the title and the names; photos cannot travel in it, so send the saved 1080 × 1350 result image instead.

Questions and answers

Can I make an ideal type world cup for free?

Yes. There is no sign-up; add names or photos and press "Start the world cup". Everything runs in the browser.

How do I make a photo world cup?

Drop or paste several photos at once; each becomes an entry named after its file. Rename it in the name field; the "Photo" button on an entry changes its picture.

What if I do not have exactly 16 entries?

Any number from 4 to 64 works. With 13 entries the bracket starts as a round of 16 and three entries get a bye in round 1; the number of byes is shown before you start.

How do I share my world cup with friends?

Press "Send to a friend" on the result screen: a link with the names is copied or shared, and whoever opens it plays their own world cup with the same entries. Photos are not included.
