Loading the tool…
Makes maze and dot-to-dot activity pages for children and prints them on A4 or Letter paper. You choose the difficulty and the number of pages for use at home or in a classroom.
How to use
- On the "Mazes" tab, pick a difficulty under "Size", then set "Maze style", "Mazes per page" and "Pages".
- Press "Make new mazes" for a different set. With "Add answer pages at the end" on, the solutions print on separate pages.
- On the "Dot-to-dot" tab, choose a "Built-in shape" or draw a line in the box with "My drawing", then set "Number of dots" and "Dot labels".
- Check the "Preview", choose "Paper" and "Orientation", and press "Print".
How it works
- Mazes range from 5 × 5 to 40 × 40 cells and have exactly one path from start to finish. Depth-first gives a long winding path; Prim and Kruskal give many branches.
- The same "Maze number (seed)" always makes the same maze. Up to 10 pages can be made at once.
- Dot-to-dot has 10 built-in shapes, such as a star, a heart, a house and a fish, with 3 to 80 dots labelled 1 2 3 or A B C.
Questions and answers
- What maze size suits my child's age?
- There is no fixed rule. Start at "very easy" (5 × 5) and move up one level when your child solves it without trouble.
- Can the maze be solved on screen?
- Yes. Under "Solve on screen", drag from the start through the corridors or use the arrow keys. It shows the first maze of the set.
- Can I turn a child's drawing into a dot-to-dot?
- Choose "My drawing" and draw one line in the box. Numbered dots are placed evenly along the line.
- How do I print the same maze again?
- Write down the "Maze number (seed)". The same number with the same settings makes the same maze.
