ID & Passport Photo Maker
Crop a photo to an ID or passport size and lay out several on one print sheet
Loading the tool…
Crops a photo to a passport, visa or ID photo size and lays out several copies on a print sheet. Use it to print ID photos from a picture taken at home or to make a file for an online application.
How to use
- Choose a size under "Photo size", or choose "Custom size" and enter the width and height in mm.
- Upload the photo and fit it with dragging, "Zoom" and "Straighten": the top of the head on the red line, the chin inside the green band.
- Choose the "Resolution" and "Print paper"; the page shows how many photos fit.
- Press "Save one photo (JPG)", "Save print sheet (JPG)" or "Print", and print at actual size (100%).
How it works
- Sizes and head heights (crown to chin) come from each issuer's published guidance, checked in October 2026. Only the Japan passport states a crown position; elsewhere the red line is a suggestion.
- The sheet has a 4 mm margin and 2 mm gaps with grey cutting lines. The photo is processed on this device only, and backgrounds are not removed or changed.
Questions and answers
- What size is a US passport photo?
- 2 × 2 inches (51 × 51 mm), with a head height of 1 to 1 3/8 inches (25–35 mm).
- What size is a UK passport photo?
- 35 × 45 mm, with a head height of 29–34 mm. Several other countries also use 35 × 45 mm.
- How many passport photos fit on a 4×6 print?
- Six photos of 35 × 45 mm, or two US photos of 2 × 2 inches.
- Will home prints be the right size?
- Yes, if you turn off scaling such as "Fit to page" and print at 100%. Measure one photo with a ruler to check.
- Can it make the background white?
- No. Take the photo in front of a plain, light wall, and check the issuer's rules on background, expression and how recent the photo must be.
