PDF to Image
Save each page of a PDF as a JPG or PNG
Loading the tool…
Saves each page of a PDF as a JPG or PNG image file. Use it to share a PDF page as a picture in a message or post, or to use one page of a document as an image.
How to use
- Drop the PDF file onto the page or click to choose it; a preview of every page appears.
- Choose the "Resolution" (72, 150 or 300 DPI) and the "Format" (JPG or PNG). For JPG you can also set the "Quality".
- If you need only some pages, type them in "Pages", for example 1-3, 5. Leave it empty for all pages.
- Press "Save image" under a page, or "Save all (ZIP)" to get every image at once.
How it works
- The pixel size of an image is the page size in points × DPI ÷ 72. An A4 page saved at 150 DPI is about 1240 × 1754 pixels.
- A very large page that is beyond what the browser can draw is saved at a lower resolution, and the page tells you so.
- Files are processed on this device only and are not uploaded. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened.
Questions and answers
- How do I convert a PDF to JPG?
- Add the PDF, choose JPG under "Format" and press "Save all (ZIP)"; you get one JPG per page in a ZIP file. For a single page, press that page's "Save image".
- Should I choose JPG or PNG?
- JPG gives smaller files for pages with photos. PNG keeps text and lines sharper because it does not blur them with compression.
- What resolution should I use?
- 150 DPI suits viewing on screen; 300 DPI suits printing or zooming in on small text. 72 DPI gives the smallest images.
- Will fonts in the PDF look right?
- Pages are drawn with the fonts stored in the PDF, so they look as they do on screen. If a PDF does not include its fonts, a similar font may be used instead.
