Merge and split PDF files on one page. Combine several PDFs into one in the order you choose, extract the pages you need from a PDF or delete the ones you don't, and split a document every few pages or into separate pages delivered as a ZIP. Nothing is installed and nothing is uploaded: the work happens inside your browser, so it is safe for ID scans, contracts and other documents you would rather not hand to a server.
How to use
- Open the "Merge" tab and drop two or more PDFs, or click to choose them. Each file shows its page count and size.
- Drag the handle on the left of each row to set the order. Arrow keys on a focused handle also move a file, and the ✕ on the right removes one.
- Press "Merge into one file". The result is saved with the first file's name plus -merged.
- To work with pages, add one PDF on the "Split & extract" tab. When the page previews appear, tap pages to select them, or hold Shift and click to select a run of pages.
- You can also type into "Page range", for example 1-3, 5, 8-10. Pages are extracted in the order you type them, which is the easy way to reorder.
- Press "Save selected pages as a new PDF" to keep only the selected pages, or "Delete selected pages and save" to keep everything else.
- To cut the file into equal parts, enter a number after "Every" and press "Split and save (ZIP)". To split a PDF into single pages, press "Save every page separately (ZIP)".
How it works
- Files are processed on this device only and are never uploaded. A progress bar appears while large files are read or saved.
- Pages are copied as they are, not redrawn, so text, images and scanned signatures keep their original quality. The tool also does not compress files.
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened. Save an unlocked copy in your PDF viewer first, then add that copy.
- The original file is never changed; a new file is always saved. Bookmarks (the document outline) of the original may not be carried over.
- "Delete selected pages and save" is unavailable when every page is selected, because a PDF cannot have zero pages.
How to combine PDF files into one: order and file size
The merged file follows the list exactly: all pages of file 1, then page 1 of file 2, and so on. When an application asks for a CV, cover letter and certificates in a single PDF, drag the files into the order the instructions give and then merge. The summary line shows the number of files and the total page count, so you can check nothing is missing before you save.
The merged file is usually close to the sum of the originals. Merging files of 2 MB, 3 MB and 1 MB gives roughly 6 MB. If an upload form has a size limit, rescan at a lower resolution or use a separate compression tool; this tool leaves image quality untouched, which also means it does not shrink anything.
How to type a PDF page range (1-3, 5, 8-10)
In "Page range", separate page numbers and ranges with commas. 1-3 means pages 1, 2 and 3; 8- means page 8 to the end; -4 means the first four pages. A tilde (3~5) works like a hyphen, and spaces or semicolons work as separators too. A page typed twice is included only once.
The order you type is the page order of the new file. In a 12-page document, 12, 1-11 moves the last page to the front, and 5-3 extracts pages 5, 4 and 3 in reverse. A page that does not exist (15 in a 12-page file) is flagged in red under the box, and a range that runs past the end (10-20) stops at the last page. Selecting pages by tapping the previews rewrites the box in ascending order.
Extract pages vs split every N pages vs split into separate pages
If you need to send just a few pages, extract them: the selected pages are saved as one PDF whose name ends in -pages. If only a few pages need to go, it is quicker to select those and use "Delete selected pages and save".
Splitting every N pages cuts the document from the front in equal parts. A 25-page document split every 10 pages gives three files: pages 1-10, 11-20 and 21-25, with the last file holding whatever is left. Saving every page separately makes one file per page. Multiple files are bundled into one ZIP, and the page numbers in the file names are zero-padded (01, 02 …) so they sort correctly by name. If a split produces only one file, it is saved as a PDF without a ZIP.
Is it safe to merge PDFs online without uploading?
Most online PDF sites upload your file to their server, process it there and promise to delete it after a while. This tool works differently. Reading the PDF, copying pages and writing the new file all happen in the browser you are using, and the file contents never travel over the network. There is no upload to wait for, and a large file is not slowed down by your connection speed.
On a shared computer, remember that the saved results stay in the downloads folder. Delete them from there when you are done.
Questions and answers
- How do I merge multiple PDFs into one?
- Add all the files on the "Merge" tab, set the order with the handles and press "Merge into one file". The page count of each file and the total are shown so you can check nothing is missing.
- Can I change the order of PDFs before merging?
- Yes. Drag the handle on the left of a file, or focus the handle and use the arrow keys; files are merged in the order shown.
- How do I extract specific pages from a PDF?
- On "Split & extract", type pages such as 2, 4-6 in "Page range" or tap the previews, then press "Save selected pages as a new PDF".
- How do I delete pages from a PDF?
- Select the pages in the previews or with "Page range" and press "Delete selected pages and save". A new PDF without those pages is saved and the original stays as it was.
- How do I split a PDF into separate pages?
- Press "Save every page separately (ZIP)". Each page becomes its own PDF and all of them are saved in one ZIP file.
- What happens if I split a 10-page PDF every 2 pages?
- Five PDFs of two pages each are made (pages 1-2, 3-4 and so on) and saved together in one ZIP file.
- Can I merge PDFs without installing software?
- Yes. This page runs in the browser with no installation or sign-up, and your files are not uploaded.
- Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
- No, it cannot be opened. If you know the password, save an unlocked copy in your PDF viewer and add that copy instead.
- Does merging PDFs reduce quality?
- No. Pages are copied as they are instead of being turned into images, so text and pictures stay identical to the original.
- Can I merge PDFs on my phone?
- Yes. Choose the files in your phone's browser and merge or split them the same way; results go to the device's download location. Very long files may be slower than on a computer.
