Practise clicking the instant a countdown hits zero; see your reaction time in milliseconds

Loading the tool…

A practice page where you press a button the moment a countdown reaches the exact second. Use it before a ticket sale or class registration to train your timing and see how many milliseconds after the opening you clicked.

How to use

  1. Under "Mode", choose "One button" or "Four items in order", and tick "Include a captcha" if you want one.
  2. Under "Countdown", choose "Random 5–15 s" or "Set my own" (3 to 60 seconds).
  3. Press "Start practice", watch the clock, and press "Get it" as soon as the second turns over and the button opens.
  4. Read the "First click after opening" delay, then see your best, average and last 10 attempts under "Records".

How it works

Questions and answers

What is a good reaction time in milliseconds?
This page labels 150 ms or less as "Very fast.", up to 300 ms as "Fast." and up to 600 ms as "Average.". These labels are only for practice.
Does it use the real site's server time?
No. It opens by the clock on this device. A real site can give different results because of its server clock and queue.
What happens if I click too early?
A "This is not open yet." message appears and the attempt is saved as a fail. The page also shows how many ms too early you were.
Can I practise a captcha too?
Yes. With "Include a captcha" ticked, you must type four digits after pressing the button. A wrong entry brings new digits.
