Cooking Measurement Converter
Convert cups, tablespoons and ounces to grams and milliliters, by ingredient
Loading the tool…
Converts cups, tablespoons, teaspoons and ounces to grams and milliliters, using the weight of the chosen ingredient, such as flour or sugar. It also converts oven temperatures between °C, °F and gas marks.
How to use
- Enter the "Amount" and choose the "From" and "To" units. "Swap units" reverses the direction.
- To convert between cups or spoons and grams or ounces, choose the "Ingredient". For volume to volume or weight to weight, leave it at "None (volume or weight only)".
- Check "Same amount in other units" to see the result in several units at once.
- Under "Oven temperature", enter a temperature and choose °C, °F or "Gas mark" to see the other two.
How it works
- Cup sizes differ: US cup 236.6 mL, metric cup 250 mL, Korean and Japanese cup 200 mL. A tablespoon is 15 mL, but 14.8 mL in the US and 20 mL in Australia.
- Ingredient weights come from the King Arthur Baking ingredient weight chart (US cups and spoons, checked October 2026). Water is 1 g per mL.
- Flour, sugar and cocoa weights assume spooning into the cup and leveling. Scooping from the bag packs in more.
- °F = °C × 9/5 + 32, converted exactly. Gas marks follow the usual UK table, where mark 4 is 350 °F (180 °C).
