Click Speed Test (CPS)
How many clicks per second you can manage in a set time
Loading the tool…
A click speed test that counts your clicks in a set time and shows your clicks per second (CPS). Use it to try out a new mouse or to compare scores with friends.
How to use
- Under "Mode", choose "Clicks per second", and under "Time", choose 1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds.
- Click the large area; the time starts with that first click. Mouse, touch and the Space key all count.
- When the time is up, "Clicks per second" and "Total clicks" appear, and the result is added to your best by test length and your last 10 tests.
- To see how fast you double-click, choose "Double-click gap" under "Mode" and double-click the area as fast as you can.
How it works
- CPS = total clicks ÷ time in seconds. For example, 40 clicks in 5 seconds is 8 CPS.
- By default only the left button counts. Turn on "Count right and middle buttons too" to count the others. Holding a key down so that it repeats does not count.
- This is just for fun, and it does not try to detect auto-clickers. Records are saved in this browser.
Questions and answers
- What does CPS mean?
- CPS stands for clicks per second: how many times you clicked in one second. It is the average over the whole test.
- Why is my CPS different for different test lengths?
- Short tests such as 1 or 5 seconds usually give a higher CPS, and long tests such as 30 or 60 seconds give a lower one because your hand gets tired. That is why the best score is saved separately for each length.
- How is the double-click gap measured?
- It measures the time between the two clicks in ms (thousandths of a second). If the gap is longer than 1 second, a new pair starts. The page shows the last gap, the average gap and the shortest gap.
- Can I delete my records?
- Press "Clear records" under "Records" to delete all saved CPS results. Double-click gaps are deleted with "Clear gaps".
