Nonogram puzzles: fill cells according to the number clues to reveal a hidden picture. There are 64 picture puzzles from 5×5 to 20×20, random puzzles, and a maker for your own puzzles.
How to use
- On the "Play" tab, choose "Picture puzzles" or "Random" under "Puzzles" and pick a puzzle.
- Tap a cell to fill it, or drag to fill several. Long-press or right-click a cell that must stay empty to mark it ×.
- If you are stuck, press "Hint (reveal a cell)", and press "Undo" after a mistake. Clues of finished lines turn grey.
- On the "Make your own" tab, draw on the grid or use "Turn an image into a puzzle", then press "Check the puzzle" to get a share link.
How it works
- Each clue gives the lengths of the filled runs in that row or column, in order. "3 1" means a run of 3 cells, at least one empty cell, then a run of 1 cell.
- Every built-in and random puzzle has exactly one solution that logic alone can find, without guessing. A puzzle you make goes through the same check.
- Progress and solved puzzles are saved in this browser. An image you load is not sent anywhere.
Questions and answers
- How do you read nonogram clues?
- Row clues read from left to right and column clues from top to bottom. Each number is one run of filled cells, and runs are separated by at least one empty cell.
- How do I start solving a nonogram?
- Begin with large numbers. In a row of 10 cells with the clue 8, the middle 6 cells are filled wherever the run starts. Marking empty cells with × reveals the next clues.
- Are nonograms the same as Picross or Griddlers?
- Yes. These are other names for the same kind of puzzle.
- Can I send a puzzle I made to a friend?
- Yes. After "Check the puzzle", copy the share link. The picture is stored in the link itself, so anyone with the link can see it.
