One projector screen with a timer, clock, name picker, noise meter, traffic light and today's tasks
Loading the tool…
A classroom screen for a projector or an interactive whiteboard that puts widgets such as a timer, a clock, a name picker and a noise meter on one board, so the tools for a lesson stay on one screen.
How to use
- Two example boards, "Lesson" and "Group work", are ready at the start. Choose one under "Board" and add widgets from "Add a widget…".
- Drag a widget by its title bar and resize it from the bottom-right corner. Names, timer lengths and QR links go in each widget's "Settings".
- When the layout is ready, press "Lock layout" and then "Full screen".
- Under "Boards", use "New empty board" or "Make a copy" to keep a board for each lesson.
How it works
- There are 14 widgets: clock, timer, name picker, groups, noise meter, traffic light, work mode, text, checklist, dice, scoreboard, QR code, picture and pen.
- The noise meter analyses the microphone sound on this device only. Its levels are relative to this microphone and are not measured decibels.
- Boards, name lists and pictures are saved only in this browser on this device. Keys: Space starts or pauses the timer, N picks a name, L locks the layout, F is full screen.
Questions and answers
- Does the classroom timer alert me when time is up?
- The timer widget flashes when time is up, and it rings if "Ring when time is up" is on in its settings. The "1 min" to "10 min" buttons and "+1" set the time quickly.
- How do I stop the name picker from choosing the same student twice?
- Switch on "Leave out names already picked" in the name picker settings. When everyone has been picked, press "Put everyone back" to start again.
- Can it make random groups?
- Yes. Type the names in the "Groups" widget settings, or press "Use the list from the name picker" when that widget is on the board, and choose "Number of groups" or "People per group". "Make new groups" shuffles again.
- Can I use the same board on another computer?
- Press "Save as file" to get a .json file and open it with "Open a file" on the other computer. The layout, texts, name lists and pictures come back the same.
