Online Whiteboard
A full-screen board for writing and drawing with a pen, with grid and lined backgrounds and several pages
Loading the tool…
A board for writing on a classroom TV, taking notes on a tablet with a pen, or sketching with a finger on a phone. It has several pages, can put a PDF or photo underneath to write on, and saves PNG or PDF files.
How to use
- Choose "Pen (P)", "Highlighter (H)", "Eraser (E)", a shape or "Text box (T)", then a color and thickness. On a phone, swipe the toolbar sideways for more tools.
- Write with one finger or a pen. Two fingers placed together zoom and pan.
- Under "Background, import, save, settings", choose the "Page orientation", "Board color" and "Background pattern", or "Use an image or PDF as background".
- "Add page" makes a new page; the ‹ › buttons under the board turn pages. Finish with "Save page as PNG" or "Save all as PDF".
How it works
- Writing is kept as line data, so it stays sharp when zoomed, and is saved in this browser after every change; the time of the last save appears under the board.
- While one finger writes, other fingers or a palm on the screen are ignored. Two fingers zoom only when they touch at almost the same moment.
- The board is for one device; several people cannot write on it at once.
Questions and answers
- Why does my writing disappear?
- A line you are writing is kept even if another finger touches the screen. If writing seems gone, the page was zoomed or moved; press "Fit page" to see it again. It is saved automatically.
- How do I get the page back on the screen?
- Press "Fit page" or the zoom percentage in the corner of the board, or tap twice with two fingers. At least a third of the page always stays on the board.
- Can I write on a PDF or a photo?
- Yes. "Use an image or PDF as background" puts the image, or one PDF page, under the current page. Files never leave this device.
- My palm draws lines.
- Touches are ignored while a pen writes. You can also turn on "Pen only", so that one finger pans instead of drawing.
- Can I undo?
- Ctrl+Z undoes and Ctrl+Y redoes, also after "Clear page". F switches to full screen.
