Math Worksheet Generator
Make printable addition, subtraction, multiplication and division practice sheets
Loading the tool…
Makes random addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems that follow your settings and prints them with an answer key. Use it for arithmetic practice sheets or times tables worksheets.
How to use
- Under "Operations", choose one or more of "Addition (+)", "Subtraction (−)", "Multiplication (×)" and "Division (÷)". Several choices are mixed on one sheet.
- Under "Choose numbers by", set the range by "Number of digits" or "Smallest and largest", and set conditions such as "Carrying (addition)", "Borrowing (subtraction)" or "Division with no remainder".
- Set the "Number of problems" (1 to 200), the "Layout", the "Blank to fill in" and the "Columns".
- Press "Make a new sheet" for other problems, keep "Add answer key pages" on, and press "Print".
How it works
- No problem appears twice on one sheet. If fewer different problems match the settings, the sheet holds only those, and the page says so.
- With "Use times tables for × and ÷" on, multiplication uses only the chosen tables (2 to 9) times 1 to 9, and division uses the matching facts.
- The same "Sheet number" and settings make the same sheet again. A division answer with a remainder is written as 7 R 2.
Questions and answers
- Can I make addition worksheets with carrying only?
- Yes. Choose "Always" under "Carrying (addition)" for problems with at least one carry, or "Never" for problems with none. Borrowing in subtraction works the same way.
- How do I make a times tables worksheet?
- Choose "Multiplication (×)", switch on "Use times tables for × and ÷" and pick the tables under "Times tables". One table has only 9 different problems, so a sheet cannot hold more than that.
- Can I make missing number problems like □ + 3 = 7?
- Choose "A number (□ + 3 = 7)" under "Blank to fill in", and the first or second number becomes the blank. "Mixed" mixes these with answer blanks.
- Can the problems be stacked in columns?
- Choose "Stacked (column)" under "Layout" to write each problem with the numbers lined up one above the other.
