Quiz Show Board Maker
Run a category-and-points quiz board or a one-question-at-a-time quiz on the big screen
Loading the tool…
Runs two kinds of class quiz on the big screen: a points board where teams pick a category and a value, and a one-question-at-a-time quiz that counts who is still in. Team scores, a timer and sound effects are built in.
How to use
- Under "Quiz type", choose "Points board" or "One question at a time". The first time, a quiz with example questions opens.
- Change the questions and answers in "Edit the board" or "Edit the questions", or paste a table under "Paste a table from a spreadsheet".
- On the board, press a cell to show its question. Press "Show answer", then the "Right" button of the team that answered or keys 1 to 8. F turns on full screen.
- In the one-question mode, press "Start timer" to time each question and change "Still in" after each one.
How it works
- A board has 3 to 6 categories, 3 to 6 point levels and 2 to 8 teams. A "Double points" cell is worth twice its value. With "Wrong answers lose points" on, a wrong answer takes the value away.
- For the "Final question", teams bet points before seeing it. A right answer adds the bet and a wrong one subtracts it.
- Quizzes are saved in this browser on this device, and you can keep several. Write maths between dollar signs, for example $x^2$.
Questions and answers
- Can I import questions from a spreadsheet?
- Yes. For the board, copy the columns category, question, answer; for the one-question mode, question, answer and then any choices.
- What if I gave points to the wrong team?
- Press "Undo (Ctrl+Z)", or use the − and + buttons next to the team's score.
- How do I share a quiz with another teacher?
- Press "Save as file" to get a .json file with the questions and pictures. The other teacher opens it on this page with "Open a file".
- Which question types are there?
- True or false, short answer and multiple choice. Each question can have a picture and its own time limit.
